K.I.S.S.I.N.G .

Just finished mating my MM P.irminia to the AF I bought from Mary not so long ago . Despite my worries it went off like clock work .

I coaxed him in to her tank . He immediately went to hide in her favourite space till he came into contact with her legs . He started slowly backing off and she slowly followed him up the side of the tank . At which point he started getting touchy feely with her . After about a minute he got her in the correct position and went for the insert . Didn't actually see the insert as I'd put his cereal tub up against the side they were on and didn't want to risk disturbing them by moving it , but I'm 95% sure that he did his duty unless he's firing blanks . Afterwards he slowly let her down they both backed off a few inches and then I coaxed him back into his tub .

Job done .

And he didn't even take her flowers or chocolates .

Just moved the tank to check on her as she hasn't been out in a while and she's sitting on an eggsac in her little hidey hole . No idea how long she's been sitting on it so I'll probably just have to leave her to it .

My first sac . Whoop !

Well , I've just bred them again .

I got him back last month after being on a date for a few months . I'd hoped she'd double clutch after the last mating but she decided to shed not too long after the first eggsac's hatched and molted into slings .

He didn't do too bad for an old fella . I haven't got a firm date on when he matured but my earliest pic of him mature is dated 02/09/09 , so he's been mature at least 11 months .

The actual breeding went pretty much as the first attempt except this time he practically lifted her whole body rather than just levering up the front of her body . After coaxing her out she seemed very receptive even going so far as to tipping herself backwards like you'd expect the male to have to do . After lifting her and what looked like a successful insertion in lowered her and backed off . Instead of retreating they shuffled around and he went in again lifted her again and got what looked like another insertion .

After the second attempt she'd clearly had enough but instead of getting stroppy with him she practically shoved him out of the way and returned to the cork tube which she calls home . He's now back in the cereal tub which has been his home since returning from the breeding loan . May try them again in a week or so , But I'm going to try to get him to eat something first not that it's likely as he barely drinks and has shown no inclination to eat .
