Hi,
I bought this spider at the show in Malmö to! 2-2.5" female..

Nephila are Sweet, not a very colourful or big one mind you..., maybe when i have cousins comming over i can get em to bring some of the local fauna :) some beautiful spiders,
I like them but find them difficult to keep alive :drum:

They tend to die if they are kept in terrariums. They are best kept out in a room not in a terrarium. But its hard to keep them loose in the house when small.. Im keeping mine in a terrarium untill it gets abit bigger. But Im keeping her in a very large enclosure compare to her size.

Constant air flow is needed to keep nephila alive, i remember taking some into my house and leving them in picture frames, the webbed they ate and were merry then slowly they all died, within a period of about 2 days, they also only drink dew on their webs

Was that larger specimens you caught?

they werent to large, we had bigger ones but these were the smallest with adult colouring, ive just realised that the spiders only live for a year,:eusa_wall: :eusa_wall: :eusa_wall: :eusa_wall: :eusa_wall: :eusa_wall: :eusa_wall: :eusa_wall: :eusa_wall: .... they probly oldies lol god why didnt i think of that
