I'd like to try keeping some of those Tegenaria. I will be on a hunt in Seattle this summer ...hoping to run into some Hobos. Supposably agrestis, domestica and duellica can all be found there. I guess they all invaded from the same boat. :jimlad:

No doubt it is a steatoda species, though its WAY to big to be anything besides grossa. (unless someone snuck in and planted some foreign specie in my room :eusa_think:  ) Actually, its about twice the size of any grossa male I have ever seen and by the looks of it, its got another molt. I hope I can put to good use. I need another large unmated female grossa. May need to work some sort of magic. :biggrin_hat:

Wish I would have taken pics of her a couple nights ago. When trying to get another one out of the enclosure, she decided to explore my hand/arm. Her abdomen was blue grey and HUGE! I got her back into the enclosure and figured I'd take some shots the next day. But, she was one step ahead of me and she produced her sac when I wasnt looking.
Took a long time to get to this point ...now to start over again and hopefully have more insight to when to get the camera out. I'd love to witness these mating ..and sac production.

Why wait til you're rich? Look into the Digital Rebel XTi or XT. Half the price of our 20D and probably just as good. Also Im sure there are a lot of used 20Ds available because of ego trip buyers trading up for the 30D.
Buthus do those scytodes only have 6 eyes? and have you ever bred your L. pallidus?
also can you confirm this is s. bipunctata

I do believe scytodes have six eyes. Though from close observation I have come to the conclusion that they actually have 2 eyes and a teddybear nose. :D
That looks like bipunctata, though Im only assuming mine is and that looks like mine. :O_o:

Red Steatoda...
The 'pumpkin' sac has not hatched ..yet... crossing fingers.
This one must not be gravid because no sac from her yet...even after all the feedings, misting and transfers.
I like these and nice thing is MOST likely I will be able to find some more in the same collection spot (at least I hope I can). Still no ID yet though ...that would be nice to have.
Mary... are your paykullianas the red flavor like mine? I want so badly to get a hold of the other regional morphs! The yellow ones look awsome and there is a brownish black variety also (at least thats what Ive read).

Working on a now long overdue web project that driving me crazy and taking much of my time. Pretending to be a programmer like I pretend to know something about spiders ..I do ok until it gets difficult and I actually have to know something. :P This crap plus kissing arse everyday trying to get on another gig in a different industry, the yard/house renovation, relationship big step plans ( God, what am I doing) , sister having her baby, friends needing their #'up'd puters fixed, other clients crying cause I have no time to do their $hat, server issues...jeese..and oh, yeah, hundreds of spiders to feed ...great hobby for when you're busy.
Really no time for my inverts ...I havnt even gone to any of the hikes. Instead just smoking more cigs... you know...to keep the weight off.  :D
Got my feeding down. Going at it a little bit each day. Keeping problematic slings on my puter desk so they dont get lost within the piles of sling cups. But its not the feeding that gets neglected so much compared to all the other stuff, like transfers, sac collection, breeding projects, trades, etc etc ..I try to do a few things that I can do in 5 or 10 minutes which doesnt make much of a dent.
Whine, whine, whine ..anyway... :D
Had to deal with a few spidy related "issues" last night...figured I may as well pull the camera out.
Geos will play dead even when in the most ridiculous positions  ...
Shes also very weak (her legs) because she reached finale molt while still in a .75oz cup. Widows need to move around at least a bit and use them legs! Ive had a few widows with weak lanky curvy legs that all were cases of small cup abuse. I try not to allow this to happen.
This one seems ok..she just wants to play dead like a typical geo...

I dont recommend handling latros that have sacs, let alone handling them with their sacs. But whatever. Pals seem to be the least "aggressive" of all the latros I have. Probably relatively safe...ymmv and keep the karma strong kind of thing.

Wow, they are some beautiful latros, Laos is my fav. Laos are pretty for sure. Not my favorite latro specie though probably because they require humidity and where I live is arid.

These sacs are new. I mated her 4 or 5 weeks ago and she quickly pumped out a couple sacs. I have another female that has produced also. Currently I have around 80 ...maybe 100 pal slings. Not the easiest to feed ..its a 50/50 sort of deal ...so they have been a lot of work.
