Hi Simon,

There are a lot of excellent British Spider Enthusiasts/IDer's on here, that with a photo, can (I'm more than confident) ID it (as best they can) for you.

Hell, I'll even go as far to say with a half decent description, give you a good idea!!!

basically a terrible picture could be anything I told you my camera was bad, but to describe it as best I can, its totally black and it does just look like a little tarantula, it might be easier if you ask me describing questions and il try and answer them best I can though shes about half a centimetre long maybe a tiny bit smaller, her abdomen is shaped like a t but a bit narrower in comparison with the rest of her, her legs sort of look like they get thinner at the ends, as she walked over my arm she was spinning web on my arm

I fed her a pin head cricket and she ate it over night also under the bit of leaf I put in shes kind of webbed a little bit and made a little hole to sit in

simon,i'm guessing the camera you used is a digital,if so you could find a magnifying glass and hold it in front of the camera lens. that way you will able to get better close ups

i do it all the time with my camera phone simon, get some really goopd close ups like that

I get shots like this using that method-its the only way my camera will focus close enough:

Gigus, how can you possibly tell from Simon's photo,or are you referring to the example pic I posted? I am pretty sure that one is Amaurobius similis.
