John's gonna kill me.. big hard man he is.. frightened of a house spider LOL I don't like em but rather than em being squished i can pick them up and put them outside. Last time i did this.. i put my hand down to set it free and it bit me :shocked: thats gratitude for ya!!

Mary, is that Tegenaria duellica or domestica? I have a duellica and i discovered its an arboreal species, whereas domestica is more terrestrial. Initially I thought mine was a domestica and kept it in a small tub, but it kept near the very top and was hard to get the lid off without disturbing its web. I read up a bit and found out about duellica being arboreal and so had a look at his palps and clinched it as duellica(also known as gigantea, they get HUGE!)

This is how I identified mine after consulting my book(the palps are different on domestica)
