Oh heck, I am looking at my leg now seeing those, mine is not as big but nasty and they can't find what caused it, and the pain I have they can't put a finger on either, it has been mentioned as a possibility by pals, not medics, and I have had daddylongleg spiders in my bed before now.

Fortunately we don't get Brown Recluse (Loxosceles reclusa/Loxosceles sp.) over here in the good ol' UK, But Loxosceles bites have been known to cause pretty serious necrosis, although Loxosceles sp. bites are fortunately, quite rare

Mary, your scaring me now. I really do hope you get this sorted. There is another alternative with yours, its maggots! (not the 'john kind') Have you read up about it? I can try & find you some info & send it.
I just really wanna give you a hug at this moment.

I kid you not, at them moment I am sat here and the pain is like a knife being turned in the ulcer, I have heard of and seen them used on tv, all I can say is YYYUUUKKK.
Trev's girlfreind has a degree in microbiology and she thinks its a viral infection as it dosen't respond to antibiotics. dunno what to think myself.

There is Loxosceles species occuring arround the Mediterranean sea. On Cyprus for example there is Loxosceles rufescens. I doubt they are as potent as L. reclusa or L. laeta. Not sure though.
But since the European Black Widow speces arent as potent as the species in USA the chanse of European Loxosceles being less potent it pretty large.
